Ever since Tesla has bought $1.5 billion worth of bitcoins, he had become a part of the crypto Twitter and involves in bitcoin discussions on Twitter. Elon Musk often tweets about Dogecoin, another cryptocurrency he is fond of. Elon Musk also announced that he has his personal holdings in Bitcoin.

The next tweet took some time. This time it was a response to J.K. Rowling, the writer of the famous book, Harry Potter. She wanted someone to explain about Bitcoin and Elon Musk had chipped in to add his views. Elon Musk also told that he owns 0.25 bitcoins.

The company, Tesla has announced that they have purchased $1.5 billion worth of Bitcoin in an SEC filing at the end of the year 2020. This was great news for the Bitcoin community. Bitcoin went to new all-time highs after the news.
On March 24, 2021, Elon Musk has announced that customers can buy Tesla cars with Bitcoin.

The reason being Bitcoin mining consumes too much energy from fossil fuels. As if, they aren't aware of this before. As per the latest data, more than 65% of Bitcoin mining takes place using renewable energy sources. Tesla also added that they won't be selling their Bitcoin any time soon and continue to hold them.
Just a few days after that, Elon Musk had some discussions with the Bitcoin miners regarding the transition of mining towards renewable energy usage.

Back in the announcement of the Bitcoin purchase by Tesla, they haven't revealed the exact number of bitcoins purchased. In June 2021, Tesla had announced that they have realized gains of $128 million on their Bitcoin holdings by selling some bitcoins. A YouTuber had calculated the amount of bitcoin Tesla holds and Elon Musk seemed to agree with it.

In reply to Michael Saylor, Elon Musk advised owning physical things or good stocks as protection from inflation. He also told that he won't be selling his Bitcoin, Dogecoin, or Ethereum for what it's worth.
As a general principle, for those looking for advice from this thread, it is generally better to own physical things like a home or stock in companies you think make good products, than dollars when inflation is high.
