Ever since Tesla has bought $1.5 billion worth of bitcoins, he had become a part of the crypto Twitter and involves in bitcoin discussions on Twitter. Elon Musk often tweets about Dogecoin, another cryptocurrency he is fond of. Elon Musk also announced that he has his personal holdings in Bitcoin.

Elon Musk has mentioned Bitcoin for the first time, way back in 2018. He has posted an image containing anime Bitcoin and there is no clear reason for this tweet.

At the time of this tweet in 2018, Bitcoin was trading at a price of $6,550. At the time of writing this article, 1 BTC = $47,200.

The next tweet took some time. This time it was a response to J.K. Rowling, the writer of the famous book, Harry Potter. She wanted someone to explain about Bitcoin and Elon Musk had chipped in to add his views. Elon Musk also told that he owns 0.25 bitcoins.

In December 2020, Elon Musk has tweeted that Bitcoin is his safe word. If you aren't aware, a safe word is used during sex to signal the end of sexual activity.

He had chosen one hell of a safe word. Later he had commented, "Just kidding, who needs a safe word anyway!?", under the same tweet.

The company, Tesla has announced that they have purchased $1.5 billion worth of Bitcoin in an SEC filing at the end of the year 2020. This was great news for the Bitcoin community. Bitcoin went to new all-time highs after the news.

On March 24, 2021, Elon Musk has announced that customers can buy Tesla cars with Bitcoin.

He also mentioned that the Bitcoin paid to Tesla, won't be converted to fiat currency.

In a bizarre turn of events, Tesla has suspended vehicle purchases using Bitcoin.

The reason being Bitcoin mining consumes too much energy from fossil fuels. As if, they aren't aware of this before. As per the latest data, more than 65% of Bitcoin mining takes place using renewable energy sources. Tesla also added that they won't be selling their Bitcoin any time soon and continue to hold them.

Just a few days after that, Elon Musk had some discussions with the Bitcoin miners regarding the transition of mining towards renewable energy usage.

Back in the announcement of the Bitcoin purchase by Tesla, they haven't revealed the exact number of bitcoins purchased. In June 2021, Tesla had announced that they have realized gains of $128 million on their Bitcoin holdings by selling some bitcoins. A YouTuber had calculated the amount of bitcoin Tesla holds and Elon Musk seemed to agree with it.

Elon Musk later told that the Bitcoin was sold to prove the liquidity of the asset.

In one of the recent tweets, on March 9, 2022, Elon Musk has posted an image that encircles the part of the names of companies, Samsung, Toshiba, Nakamichi, and Motorola, which leads to Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin.

Satoshi Nakamoto, the person behind Bitcoin is still anonymous and nobody knows where he is from. Elon Musk had rejected the claim that he is Satoshi Nakamoto.

In a more recent tweet, Elon Musk asked about the probable inflation rate over the next few years. Inflation is soaring in the USA with over 7.9% in March 2022.

In reply to Michael Saylor, Elon Musk advised owning physical things or good stocks as protection from inflation. He also told that he won't be selling his Bitcoin, Dogecoin, or Ethereum for what it's worth.
